Sweet End.

Assalamualaikum.

Last 2 weeks, I lead my team for annually grand tournament called MASUM (Majlis Sukan Universiti Malaysia), we've got one gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze. Thanks to coaches who are always there when we need their help. The commitment they had showed us from the start of MASUM's training camp. I don't see the tournament as a medium to get gold medal, I would rather look into the attitude of each and every athlete before I show him/her a respect. The problem is nowadays, especially in this very generation of Y , where children took technologies for granted. True, it helps mankind in many ways, but work hard is a must. Actually, I have learnt almost everything in a hard way, not only I have found pleasure, but I found peace as well. The thing is, I look at my position in very different perspective, yes... as a captain I need to assist coaches to fulfill their target, and ofcourse carry burden from the officer of IIUM Sports Complex, I'm aware of all that, I tried to help everyone in a way that I know, when I need help in the future, someone will give a helping hand without a second thought, hopefully. I believe that every athletes were born with 'handsome' attitude, it means that is our fitrah as a muslim, we were born in a perfect condition. So, my main goal is solely to discover the imperfections among the team. I am not consider it as a successful achievement, but its atleast I can do before stepping down as a captain. Gold medal comes and go, but attitude last forever. I respect people with well mannered and brilliant attitude.

Well, before we go back to the campus, my team assistant come up with an activity, that required each and every one of the team members to comment to one another. Each person is given two pieces of papers, one to be folded as letter and another to be cut into 6 section. The rational is to give a thought about one another. Some are afraid to tell others wrongdoing, some are very careful at people's perception, some are not in a team although the body is there, some knows that they are doing it wrong, but insist to ignore it, some are very emotional , some are shy shy cat, some are very outspoken and etc. Well, the outcome is good, although it is very awkward in the beginning. First time I had this session with silat mates, and alhamdulillah , it goes well and I feel the ukhuwwah between us getting stronger.

As for me, I've got fourth placing in Jurus Tunggal Putra. I don't feel sad, happy or anything....weird. Maybe it is not in my top target, but I'm proud of the team. Rediscover the team. I was impressed on how they managed to handle those problems, obstacles while still training for this huge tournament. They give and take for one another. Some said that the game was set up, well its not the first time, especially in UPSI. But to me, maybe Allah arrange it all to give lesson to those He want to. If its not now, maybe later ? . The team is what matters most. Sport is just a sport, don't ignore others commitment just to chase glory. In my case, alhamdulillah I sit for the Mathematic exam before depart to UPSI, the result is not what I expected, thanks Allah ya Rabb, You are the best planner afterall. ^^

What I'm trying to say is that, we've made it for MASUM 2014. Yeay to the team! ^^
